KENDRICK LOUIS

IRONMAN

This campaign is about inclusion, unity and community. It is about uniting men and women and all sports by a common thread. How do you feel wearing the new P.E Nation UNISEX range and what does that mean to you?

When wearing the new P.E Nation pieces, I feel mostly comfortable, confident, on trend and empowered. I appreciate that a bold item of clothing can act as an extension of your personality without having to even say a word. I do believe in the power of self-love, and feeling that love in whatever you wear.

You are so accomplished within your field. What is your go to in order to keep motivated? Movement and being active is the basis of motivation.

By setting and working on the smaller goals, then constantly assessing and reassessing them along the way. I am also motivated by the idea of achieving that end goal, the greatest success. I think of it as a journey of self discovery, with the aim to overcome all the little challenges that arise before one can truly reach the peak.

Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself?

My beautiful fiancé, Holly. She's constantly teaching me how to love deeply, spread more kindness, be more present and to live life to the absolute fullest! Our motto is: where there's a will, there's a way.

Movement is so important for the body and mind. How do you integrate this into your day to day life?

My day has to start with movement or otherwise I feel inherently guilty. It's all I've known for as long as I can remember. Whether it be a swim session at the pool or time on or in the ocean, that being a ski session with some guys from my Surf Club or an ocean swim from Manly to Shelly and back, followed by a run. Being a professional Ironman, some days consist of a gym session around lunchtime, wrapping the day up with a ski, board or iron session on the water or a gym/run session with the squad. Training constitutes a huge chunk of my life and I simply love it, it makes me feel healthy, strong and physically capable of doing anything I set my mind too. Movement allows you to push your body to limits you don't even know exist.

We have all had to adapt to a new norm. How have you found this transition and how you approach the new way of life?

It's definitely changed things for me as an athlete as all competitions and off-season events have been cancelled. In saying that, it's been a nice change of pace and has allowed me to appreciate home, the simple things and the slower pace of life. I've enjoyed being home more and doing more locally, including doing way less. It has also allowed me the time to focus on building up my digital business Louis Media, which is where my other passion lies outside of Ironman racing. It’s been great working with a variety of small startups in all different spaces building up their presence and exposure in the digital marketing and online space. Training wise, I've ensured I start my mornings with a session on the water before sunrise, as there's nothing better than seeing the sun rise each morning. I live for that time of the day!
